The holidays are a perfect time to reconnect. Being able to spend time with family that I have not seen in years is a blessing. Thanksgiving reminds me of who I am. The loud conversations, the arguments, the laughs, the games, the crazy aunt, the funny uncle, and the playful little cousins are all crucial to the feeling of Thanksgiving.
Today, I almost had the nerve to be upset. I was upset because I wanted to be with the bulk of my family but my mom had cooked and we went home instead. However, while sitting in the kitchen I realized how blessed I was to be able to see a countertop crowded with food. I thought about all of the people who do not have what I am seeing right now in front of me, and I instantly was humbled.
Stop and appreciate what your family has prepared for you. Stop and be thankful, despite any other issues you may be facing, that you have a stomach full of great food. Stop and be thankful that you are provided for. In contrast, if you are not so blessed this time around,  there are people who will help you. No one deserves to be alone for the holidays. Therefore, if I know you personally and you have nowhere to go for the holidays, I extend the invitation.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
